I was lucky enough to receive three books from bookbridgr this week, one which was a complete surprise.

I also went on a bit of a book buying splurge (the bottom two are going to be put away from Christmas) but there were so many good books released this week I couldn't not!

Showcase Sunday is a weekly event hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea where book bloggers share what books they have added to their collection in the previous week.

This week I was sent a proof copy of Lucy Diamond's The Year of Taking Chances, I am beyond excited to read this as I'm sure its going to be brilliant, it definitely sounds it anyway. So thank you so much to Becky at Pan Macmillan for the copy, you are fab!

I was also accepted to read these two on Netgalley, which I need to leave well alone this month I think as my score is shocking. I wanted to read The Doll as I want to try and branch out next year into more crime/thriller books as I do enjoy them I just never really know what to pick, like this book I didn't realise it was part of a series until I had downloaded it. I'm also really glad I was accepted to read But I Said Forever as the plot looks like it could be really funny to read.

So that's what I was lucky enough to receive from publishers and authors this week, I didn't buy any books but there a so many out on Thursday that look amazing expect next week's haul to be a little bigger!

This week I have read:
Difficult Husbands by Mary de Laszlo
Hello from the Gillespies by Monica McInerney

On the blog this week:

Things went a bit wrong towards the end of the week with blogging but hopefully I should have posts everyday this week as half term is over.

Showcase Sunday #11

Showcase Sunday banner

Showcase Sunday is a weekly event hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea where book bloggers share what books they have added to their collection in the previous week.  This week I have received two books from bookbridgr and two from Rebecca Raisin, so thank you to both of them.

I am super excited to read both of these as I'm a huge Clare Dowling fan and am ready for her next book. I'm also looking forward to the Emma Hannigan book, I've not read anything by her before but this one and her previous book The Summer Guest really appeal.

Christmas at the Gingerbread Cafe (A Gingerbread Cafe story #1)  Chocolate Dreams at the Gingerbread Cafe (A Gingerbread Cafe story #2)

I was super excited to receive these from Rebecca herself, these have been on my wish-list for a long time and I cannot wait to get stuck into Lily's story and aren't the covers just beautiful!!

So that is what has been added to my ever increasing bookcase this week, what have you added to yours? Check out Vicky's blog post here to link up with other blogs.

Sunday Showcase #10

Showcase Sunday banner

Showcase Sunday is a weekly event hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea where book bloggers share what books they have added to their collection in the previous week. This week I have been really lucky and received some great books to review and also collected a few freebies on my kindle.

I received the following all from bookbridgr and Headline

I am super excited about the Tasmina Perry book as I've wanted to read this for months but I'm not a huge fan of heavy hardbacks and that all I could find. I've not heard of Anne Perry before but chose these off bookbridgr as they both looked like really good Christmas reads. I like that they are short as can curl up with some hot chocolate and finish them in one night.

Stolen ChildWhite LiesMy Life: A Rom Com Omnibus

I also picked up these on Amazon for my kindle, they are currently free but please check price before you buy as might change. I've been very good and not bought any actual books in the last couple of weeks but I'm sure once we hit October that will change, so next week there may be more books to see.

Showcase Sunday #5

Showcase Sunday is a weekly event hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea where bloggers share which books they have received or bought throughout the week. This week I only picked up two books from the library and my friend Jane has lent me one to read.

Spare BridesParty Games

I'm  a huge Adele Parks fan and her novels just seem to keep getting better, this is set in 1920 after the end of The Great War and focuses on the lives of Beatrice, Ava, Sarah and Lydia. I'm intrigued by this as its her first historical novel. Party Games is Jo Carnegie's first novel which is not part of the Churchminister series, which I loved, so it will be interesting to see what this is like.

The Hidden Cottage

Don't know anything about this one, but its Erica James so is bound to be good. Could be a while before I get round to this one though. So what books have made their way into your collection this week? Take a look at everyone else's list here.

Showcase Sunday #4

Showcase Sunday is meme started by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea where book bloggers can share which books they have received throughout the week. This week I've been very good and not bought any books. I'm saving up for a Kindle and thankfully due receiving some money for my birthday on Friday I now have enough. I just have to wait till it's cooled down a bit so I can venture into town to get one without being exhausted.  I was lucky enough to receive some e-books this week.

Firstly the brilliant Jane Linfoot sent me copies of two of her books for review,  How to Win a Guy in 10 Dates and High Heels and Bicycle Wheels, super excited to read these as read The Right Side of Mr Wrong last week and I loved it, plus I've had a sneaky read of the first couple of pages of these and I can't wait to read more, both look really good.

The Indecent Proposal

I also picked up this short story on Amazon for free yesterday. Have you read any of these, I'd love to know what you think? What did you pick up this week? To look at everyone else's list click here.
